Contains sounds of 30 species of Pheasants, 25 Cuckoos, 21 Owls, 6 Frogmouths, 19 Barbets, 19 Pittas, 133 Babblers, 9 Parrotbills, 72 Warblers & Prinias, and many more!
Covers the area known as the Oriental Region, which consists of the Indian subcontinent, southeast Asia including southern China, the Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia except the easternmost islands.
New features: besides having more recordings and more photos of more species, the CD-ROM also has a number of new features:
- Playlists. You can now compose your own playlists, which can be stored on disk between sessions, and exchanged by e-mail (see the screenshots to get the idea.)
- Area selection. You can now select an area, where all presented species must occur (so for example, if you select China and The Philippines, only the species occurring in China and/or in The Philippines are shown.)
- Photographs of 35 well-known birding localities. See one of the screenshots for an illustration.
- The user can choose between the "Clements 2000" and the "Sibley & Monroe" systematic orders.
